One of the running mantras in our WebStar offices nowadays is “What’s doable nowadays wasn't possible 5 years ago, and what was doable 5 years ago wasn’t possible twenty years ago”. however terribly true this can be.
Twenty-five years ago, there have been only a few net applications on the net. In fact, we tend to were all mudding up the waters with HTML one (Don’t get me started). Back when the films like “Basic Instinct”, “Wayne’s World” and “Unforgiven” were the top producing films in Hollywood, most software applications were server based mostly, running through VPN’s, and the term “running within the cloud” didn’t exist yet.
Fifteen years agone, the massive push was e-Commerce. companies would decide the US and tell the US they were mercantilism this appliance or that, and that we would pay months planning and building beautiful custom e-commerce applications, totally equipped with e-Commerce payment process, SSL and complex shipping practicality, all nicely tied into UPS, FEDEX, DHL and USPS, along with all the tax accounting and news tools required to run the e-Commerce website.
These were turn-key software system solutions that maximized productivity. we were means ahead of the curve at the time.
